Case study · Residential renovation
Tilt-and-turn French windows in Cortizo COR 70 Industrial with Aluprof electric roller shutters, for the renovation of an apartment in Nice’s Carré d’Or - light grey outside, Bright Gold anodised inside.
01 - The project
In Nice’s Carré d’Or, the apartment’s tall French windows open onto wrought-iron balconies and some of the city’s most ornate façades. The renovation called for windows that respect the building from the street and bring warmth to the rooms inside.
GLL Materials supplied tilt-and-turn French windows in Cortizo COR 70 Industrial, finished in RAL 7035 light grey outside and Bright Gold anodised inside, together with Aluprof electric roller shutters and boxes.

02 - The specification
Each window is bicolour: RAL 7035 light grey on the exterior and a Bright Gold 2B anodised finish on the interior. Anodising is part of the aluminium surface itself rather than a coating on top, so the metallic tone stays deep and even over time.
The details were set with the same care: a low threshold onto the balconies, handles at 1,100 mm and 22 mm interior cover trims for a clean junction with the walls.
As specified

03 - The system
A 70 mm hinged system that combines excellent thermal and acoustic performance with simple fabrication - one of Cortizo’s most specified series for aluminium windows and balcony doors. It is available with a visible sash, or a semi-visible sash for a larger glazed area.
